Research and Yet More Research

Hello again everyone.

As you will all be aware from my previous blog I am now repeating the lessons from Week 9 onwards as a refresher, and for a deeper understanding, of John Thornhill’s methods.

In week 11 of the product creation phase of the Partnership to Success course we are all about research.

Research takes time

I have taken a little time away from my research so I can write this blog post.

However, your research should take you at least one week.

My Research plan

  1. Go through all my downloaded PLR files and purchased programs to search for articles or eBooks about my chosen topic.
  2. Study any videos I have already downloaded that will help me.

  3. Look at other blog posts about my topic.
  4. Visit relevant forums
  5. Search the internet for any related topics.
  6. Search the internet for any products that might be of interest.
  7. Look through ClickBank marketplace for information
  8. Visit JV Zoo for more information
  9. Study the sales pages of these products; see what I can learn from them.
  10. Maybe buy a product or two for research purposes.

I will be downloading what I can and making notes on things that I cannot download.

My Progress

I am actually on #1 at the moment. Lucky for me I have already spent some time putting all my PDFs into one large categorized file. I have printed off what I need and am about to start reading through them and making notes as I go. Or I could just highlight bits and pieces and do a bit of cut and paste into a waiting file. Please remember also to note where you found your information, for crediting later. You must not directly use another person’s work, this would be plagiarism.

Until next time

Take care

  • Hi Pauline,

You are right to put effort into the research and as you say, a product idea should pop out of all that as the one to move forward with. Good luck and I look forward to hearing more from you.

    Hi Pauline

Researching the product area is getting to be intense work, I have found printing things of easier than trying to constantly read it on a computer screen. However there are times that the kitchen table looks like a mass of paper covered with yellow highlighter.
    Good luck with your quest

      Hi Elaine,

Yes I agree with you, printing is the way to go albeit an expensive way.
I find I just cannot read everything on the screen and take it all in. Also end up with a massive headache.

Just had my delivery of ink cartridges, so back to work.

      Take care

Looks like you have a great plan in place Pauline.

Do you already have a product in mind? What your product is going to be about?

      Hi Ron,

I am actually looking at about three topics, not sure which one to go for. I am hoping to research each one following my above plan. Eventually I am sure one will present itself as the best option. Well that’s the plan.

Thank you for visiting Ron. Please come again.

      Take care
